Celebrity Gogglebox is back on our screens and fast pals Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse were one of the celebrity couples tuned in to the best of British TV. And the comedian was quick to show Gogglebox viewers that he can still dance.

The couple became fast friends after winning Strictly Come Dancing in 2020. Bill took the nation by storm with his moves and the pair wowed the judges with their choice of couple to the delight of the Sugarhill Gang rappers.

But at the start of the Channel 4 show, Oti was sitting on the couch, but Bill was keen to show her he could still dance. And viewers were treated to some of its stages.

Oti struck up the conversation, however, with the professional dancer concerned about Bill’s health. “What happened to your back pain?” she asked. “I thought you had back problems.”

Undeterred, Bill replied, “Seeing you, I am imbued with the spirit of the dance.”

He added, “You know what? I’m still training. In the show, I do a bit of Charleston.” And with that, he started showing off his fancy footwork.

Oti seemed to like the moves, but it wasn’t long before the dance coach in her took over. She quickly began shouting instructions at the 57-year-old comedian.

“Oh look at that pivot,” she said. “Move your arms. Move your arms.

The couple soon sing Puttin’ on the Ritz, a song made famous by dancer Fred Astaire.

Viewers took to social media to share their joy at seeing Bill dance. Gavin Evans (@GavinEvs) said: “Bill Bailey never would have done this a few years ago, fair play for him #Gogglebox.”

Bill and Oti were joined by a host of other celebrity couples when Celebrity Gogglebox returned to Channel 4. The cast included: Nick and Liv Grimshaw, Rylan and his mother Linda, Shaun Ryder and Bez, Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher, Martin and Roman Kemp, Mo Gilligan and Babatunde Aléshé and Mel C and his brother Paul.

Famous faces watched some of the latest and greatest TV shows including Stranger Things, Hunted, Platinum Party at the Palace, The 1% Club and Celebrity Karaoke Club.
