CAHH’s Dance the Night Away gala inspired by Dancing With The Stars

Some pretty whimsical footwork filled The Breakers’ Circle ballroom as Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope (CAHH) supporters gathered to dance, dance, dance.

The second annual Dance the Night Away Gala took place on April 1 with a format inspired by the hugely popular TV show “Dancing With The Stars”.

Janet Levy and Lois Richards were the chairs of the event, which brought together 13 local non-professional ballroom dancers for a celebrity dance.

Tony Dovolania professional “Dancing with the Stars” dancer, again served as emcee for the event.

Famous judges were Armando Martin, Linda Martin and Palm Beach Mayor Danielle Moore.

The competition has started with special performances from the winners of 2021 Bruce Helander and Lauri Welteroth.

Competitors included Elizabeth DeBrule, Renee Scott, Gail Corder Fischer, Trish Carroll, Sarah Negrin, Nancy Maiale, Paul Bert, David Deberard, Max McNamara, David McClymontand Gillet Warrington.

Fischer and Deberard won the trophy.

McNamara won the audience award.

“All of us at Cancer Alliance are very grateful for the support of everyone who has dedicated their time and energy to the competition,” said the CEO. Stanton Collemer. “This fun and exciting fundraiser helps us expand our services and serve more cancer patients and their families in our community.”

The evening’s proceeds – more than $400,000 – help the Palm Beach-based Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope in its mission to improve the quality of life for cancer patients by helping with ordinary living expenses such as as rent and mortgage, utilities, car and health insurance, car payments, food and other basic necessities.
