Leah Remini Joins ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Jury After Matthew Morrison Departs

Leah Remini joins the judging panel for Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance” competition series.

Remini’s addition to the show comes after ‘Glee’ alum Matthew Morrison quit the judging panel after failing to follow ‘contest production protocols’. According to a People report, Morrison was fired after sending private messages on social media to a candidate. Morrison then took to Instagram to deny any inappropriate conduct on his part.

Remini joins the judging panel which now consists of herself, Stephen “tWitch” Boss and JoJo Siwa. Cat Deeley is the host. Remini will debut in the series’ 300th episode, which airs June 15.

“I’m thrilled to join ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ for its 300th episode,” Remini said. “I look forward to guiding these incredibly talented performers through this competition as a fan of the show and a huge admirer of the dancers. I look forward to seeing the artistry the contestants bring to the stage!

Per Fox, the 300th episode will celebrate the show’s legacy and feature this season’s top 12 dancers, selected to move on to studio SYTYCD to showcase their talents in various dance genres, including contemporary dance, tap, hip-hop, the ballroom, animation, breaking. and more.

“So You Think You Can Dance” ran for 16 seasons, earning 71 Emmy nominations along the way. This includes 17 wins, including Best Choreography and Best Costume.

The series is from 19 Entertainment, part of Sony Pictures Television, and MRC. The series is produced by co-creator Nigel Lythgoe, Jeff Thacker, Rosie Seitchik, Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman on behalf of 19 Entertainment. Seitchik also serves as showrunner.
