He has backed his campaign to get his family out of Ukraine and will meet them at the border on Monday when he reports on talkRADIO.

Rinder, 43, tweeted his plans for Monday as he shared a post about Platero and his family.

He also co-hosted Hello Brittany recently and wrote: “Oksana Platero my Ukrainian dance partner on @bbcstrictly gifted me so much. At the moment, her grandparents have been struggling for a week to find refuge in a safe country.

“I will try to meet them at the border next week. They are just a few of the millions who need us.”

Specifying which border he would meet them at, he wrote: “It depends on where they are going, but I will be at the Polish border from Monday.

She wrote: “Dear friends, As you already know, many families are going through such difficulties with the war in Ukraine. My family and that of my cousin, Kateryna Klishyna, are fleeing and moving closer to the border.

“My mother, my 10-year-old brother and Kateryna’s sister left their home on the morning of March 2 and arrived safely on March 6. As you can imagine, the journey there was brutal, but everything what matters is that they did, and they are safe. We are eternally grateful to have them still because there are so many who cannot say the same.

“The rest of our family, which includes our 3 grandparents, 2 who cannot walk, and Kateryna’s mother and father, are still in danger as they are still trying to escape. We are praying that they get out of Ukraine and soon be safe.

“What happens next is unclear, unpredictable and terrifying for them.”

Strictly Judge Motsi Mabuse also shared her concern for her Ukrainian husband’s family, while Countdown star Rachel Riley and her Russian husband Pasha Kovalev who is a former Strictly pro shared a social media post in solidarity with Ukraine for International Women’s Day.
